Website conversion review

Find out where visitors stop, and what would make them call, fill in the form or buy.

Sending more traffic to a page that leaks only makes a bigger leak. Fix the page first.

This is for you if

  • Traffic is fine. Enquiries aren't.
  • Ads bring clicks to pages that don't convert.
  • Visitors reach the form and leave.
  • Your team argues about the homepage, and nobody has data.
  • You're about to spend more on traffic and want the pages ready first.

What you get

  1. A review against seven checks

Your key pages, checked against the C.O.N.V.E.R.T. method from my book Decoding the Click.

    • Clarity Is the offer clear within five seconds?
    • Obvious action Is the next step impossible to miss?
    • Now Is there an honest reason to act today?
    • Value Is the value clear against the price and the effort?
    • Evidence Is there proof at the moment doubt appears?
    • Refinement What does the data say is leaking?
    • Testing What should be tested, and in what order?
  2. Evidence from your analytics

Where visitors drop, by page and device, from GA4, plus heatmaps and recordings where installed.

  3. A ranked list of changes

Each with the reason, the evidence and the expected effect.

  4. Rewritten copy

Headlines, calls to action and form fields for the pages that matter most.

  5. A test plan

For changes that need proof before rollout.

  6. A walkthrough call

    With whoever builds the pages.

How it works

  1. Goals and access

What counts as a conversion, plus access to GA4 and any heatmap tool.

  2. Data

Funnels, drop-offs, devices and traffic sources.

  3. Page review

Each key page, on a phone first.

  4. Walkthrough

The changes and rewrites, walked through together.

The method is in print

Decoding the Click

The review follows the method in the book, so you can read the thinking before we talk. I don't publish conversion lifts I can't attribute. A good review tells you what to change and how to measure it, so you see the result in your own numbers.

What I won't do

  • Copy a competitor's layout because it looks good.
  • Use fake countdown timers, invented scarcity or other dark patterns. They lift clicks and sink trust.
  • Recommend a redesign when three changes would do.
  • Call a test a winner before it has enough data.

Questions

How is this different from an SEO audit?

The audit asks how people find you. This asks what happens once they arrive. Many sites need both. If traffic is low, the audit usually comes first.

Do we need a lot of traffic?

For A/B tests, yes. For the review, no. With low traffic I rely on recordings, customer feedback and proven principles, and suggest changes you can make without a test.

Do you make the changes?

I write the copy and the specs. I can build them in WordPress or brief your developer.

Which tools do you use?

GA4 and Search Console, plus heatmaps and recordings such as Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar where they're installed.

Do I need to read the book first?

No. It's there if you'd like to see how I think before we talk.
